As usual, Tessie got into another seriously bad tantrum, making Mom and Dad get really angry at us.. But heck, it always happens.. Sometimes we really don't know what goes on in her head. She just ups and decides she's annoyed at something and 'woops! we'd better scram outta her way..' Anyways, we spent that whole day just walking around and shopping. Thanks Dad and Mom for being ever so patient and walking with us endlessly without any complaints. I too was getting very tired towards the end, so I understand how you guys must have felt. Anyways, we had dinner ar Restoran Oversea (I think). It was by unanimous voting that it was the best meal ever!! We were so missing chinese food that everything on our table that day seemed God-sent (See facebook for pictures). This reminds me.. The roads in Malaysia.. What I'll give not to have to cross them again. It is quite known that Malaysians have a unique way of driving which, as a Singaporean, I would have to say is relatively unsafe. I had absolutely no idea how their traffic lights worked. I mean, their pedestrian crossing rule is give-way-to-the cars-not-the-pedestrians. I had no idea though, so crossing the roads always made me hold my breath subconsciously.

malaysia trip part 2: KL and Berjaya Times Square (17th - 20th dec 2008)
So after our sorely disappointing trip to Colmar Tropicale, we arrived at Berjaya Times Square. Parking was such an issue but we finally got settled in. After we dropped our bags, we headed to the food court for some lunch. Do you know that for the dishes and rice stall you actually scoop the food yourself? It's not like the kind where u are served.. And their pricing is absolutely outrageous. There's no transparency as to how much they charge and how they calculate it. I don't even know if they go by quantity of each dish or the number of dishes.. And the same goes for the other food stalls. The lady was superbly unwilling to serve us and kept quoting a different price from that stated on the menu. Only after paying and checking the recepit did we realize that it was for some gst.. Weird!!
We did a little more shopping than we headed back to our lovely suite on the 39th floor. It was a lovely night, being back in a more familiar environment of a clean and well-prepped hotel room. Boy was it relaxing to soak in a well-deserved bubble bath and snuggle into freshly cleaned sheets for the night.
The next morning, we were very reluctant to get out of bed for a swim, despite having made plans the night before. In the end, we settled for some sauna and steam room. Then we went back to pack our stuff and get ready to leave. We packed our luggages, loaded them onto the car, then went for more shopping.. (instigated by a very disappointed someone beacuse she felt she didn't get to do enough shopping and get what she wanted). We had some dimsum brunch which was not terrible but pales in comparison to Red Star's. Finally, around 3pm or so, we left KL. I sound very mean saying this but I was kinda glad we were going back to Singapore. I guess I just wasn't used to it.. Not that I'm spoilt or anything..
Anyways, we did make a stop at JB's Restoran Ah Koong. Lurve their Yong Tau Foo. It was absolutely delicious. Really cheap but the quantity was sufficient to make everyone smile toothily. I really recommend this place. Go for the set meals. They have very good variety and it's well priced and delicious. =)
All in all, I had a good time, setting aside the quirky Malaysian services and Malaysian style cooking. Really glad for this little trip. Thanks dad for organising it and driving us to and fro!! =)
